The 2019 Bajaj Dominar

The 2019 Bajaj Dominar has been spotted testing without any camouflage and we can reveal the list of updates that has gone into the street fighter.


The most significant change comes in the form of a new front suspension system. The regular telescopic fork has been replaced by an inverted telescopic unit which is inline with the segment standards. Another immediately noticeably change is the new twin-can silencer canister which seems to have integrated catalytic converter (the old cat-con unit placed under the crankcase is now missing, this means higher ground clearance figure).
The motorcycle also appears to have a wider (and slightly taller) handlebar and longer pillion seat for improved comfort. Visual changes include new stalks for the rear view mirrors, steel braided brake cables, a slightly larger radiator, new leg guard, updated digital instrument console, and vents for the brake in front fender.

We also learn that the 373.3 cc engine will benefit from DOHC configuration and ride-by-wire technology. It will also be BS-VI ready.

The front disc brake is now located on the left side of the wheel and employs radially mounted calipers. Needless to say, the motorcycle will sport dual-channel ABS as standard. The wheels and tyres have been retained without specification changes. The two major issues reported by most current Dominar owners – vibrations and ‘thud’ sound when it is slotted in first gear, have been fixed with the latest Dominar 2019 variant.

The heavily updated 2019 Bajaj Dominar is expected to be launched later this year alongside the new Pulsar family. Expect the motorcycle to be slightly pricier than the current model which retails at Rs 1.62 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi for the ABS version).
